The Culture War

The Culture War – What is it?
We see the evidences of the culture war exhibited continually in our society. The culture war is between traditional American values like belief in God, the Bible, universal moral standards, sanctity of life, family values, marriage between a man and a woman, Christian founding of America, and historic truth, and the opposite values, including denial of God, belief in biological evolution, rejection of the Bible, faith in a relative moral code, abortion on demand, abolishing traditional family values, abolishing marriage as between a man and a woman, and denying our Christian heritage.

The word "truth" is almost never used anymore. As we see our society deteriorate, nobody is trying to identify the root causes of our social ills. Conversely, if modern day statistical tools are used to identify the root cause of these problems, the truth and corrective action seekers are labeled with many bad names. We do not want to admit that the philosophies we are teaching are actually causing the problems. We avoid connecting the dots to prevent the truth from interfering with our desires.

D. James Kennedy tells of listening to an interview with Aldous Huxley, the most prominent evolutionist of Kennedy’s time, on public radio. Huxley was asked why he thought Darwinian evolution became accepted so quickly. Rather than answering from a technical or scientific standpoint, he stated that belief in Darwinian evolution allowed us to follow our sexual mores. Many additional evidences are documented that refute evolution. In addition to being the foundation for humanism, the evolution story must be upheld to support the cultural change that is fueling the culture war.

The Culture War – Where do we see it?
This polarized conflict caused by the culture war is seen in many parts of our society. It is found in the entertainment industry, editorial pages, radio and TV talk shows, the floor of the U.S. Senate, organizational mandates, etc. Some of these organizations that are pushing to change our society are the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, NOW, NARAL, and NEA.

Traditions and values once viewed as the pillars of our society are now being viciously attacked. Some of these include the traditional family, babies, boy scouts, Christmas, prayer, free speech, and right to bear arms. We have a whole new list of words and phrases to help implement the so-called “enlightened” cultural changes, including relative truth, situational ethics, the new tolerance, political correctness, profiling, hate speech, multiculturalism, diversity, bigotry, sensitivity, affirmative action, women’s choice, and homophobic.

The Culture War – A Summary
The driving force for the current culture war is simply the falling away from God that is predicted in the Bible. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 states, “Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for (that day will not come) until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.”

Matthew 24:37-38 states, “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark.”

In Genesis 6:5 speaking of the conditions before the flood, “The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.”

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus

I still have questions

How can I know God?

If you died, why should God let you into heaven?
